Science Education & Outreach
Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) is dedicated to promoting equity and inclusion in STEM! Our goal is to advance women in STEM in the face of historical, past, and present challenges. Our programs include mentorship, networking, outreach, social events, and more.
The K-12 team at Berkeley Lab develops educational programs to teach and support the next generation of scientists. Our programs connect students to researchers through career talks, teacher workshops, internships, camps, and more. In addition to managing communication and media for our team, I hosted virtual career talks, developed content, mentored students in the SAGE summer camp, and designed flyers for programs.

The YWCA provides empowerment programming, advocacy, and opportunities for marginalized individuals and families, especially women, girls, and female-identifying people of color. I developed curricula for and led an afterschool STEM program for 3rd and 4th grade girls in Oakland centered around introducing scientific concepts in engaging hands-on activities.
This program partners graduate student researchers in environmental sciences with high school science teachers to train them in science communication and to enrich science education in our schools. I developed and taught a lab module called "Fungal Fighters," introducing students to microbiology research. Students culture fungal pathogens from leaves collected around the school and run growth tests to measure their characteristics.

Perennial - the Undergraduate Environmental Journal of Berkeley
Designer & contributing author (2020)
Perennial is an open platform to showcase the diverse work of UC Berkeley’s environmental community. Stylistically between traditional news magazines and formal academic journals, Perennial publishes original editorials written by staff and academic articles submitted by Berkeley undergraduates. In 2020, I contributed an article and helped design the first issue.
